Legal Considerations for Fire and Emergency Services

"The
"Legal Considerations" text is first rate. I've been teaching "Fire
Law" for the last 14 years and have consistently used handouts in
the course because I was not satisfied with any of the texts
available. This text covers all the necessary material very well
and is affordable for our students
and
gives our photo copier a rest.
"When I picked up the book to read, I didn’t know
what to expect but I was soon pleasantly surprised. This book spoke
to me in a way that I understood. One of the features that I liked
was the actual cases that were used. They were presented in a
concise, reader-friendly manner. They help the reader learn about
important legal concepts and how the practice of law impacts the
fire service."
"In the 34 years that I’ve been a member of the fire service, there has only been one other book that I can recall that addressed the legal aspects of the fire service – until now. ... In 2007, we now have a book that covers the fire and emergency services from all perspectives. Legal Considerations for Fire and Emergency Services, by J. Curtis Varone, will explain to you, in easy-to-understand language and with relevant cases and examples, how laws and the legal system impact you and your fire department every day.
"I am a fire service history buff, and I loved reading the Cocoanut Grove case. There’s details in that case that I have never seen anywhere else in print."
