Baseball
The Firefighters Baseball Team was originally formed in 1990. Thirteen of the fifteen original players were Providence Firefighters, hence the team name. As the years went on the team became a mixture of firefighters, police officers, school teachers and others, and played competitively in the Over 30 Division of RIMSBL. In 1991 the Firefighters were the League's Regular Season and Playoff Champions. In 1993 the Firefighters were Regular Season Co-Champions. In 2000, the Firefighters made the jump to the Over 40 Division.
In October, 2001, the Firefighters, combined with players from the Rhode Island Hurricanes, won the Men's Senior Baseball Over 40 Central Division World Series in Phoenix, Arizona. The team went 10-0, scoring 179 runs.

In 2001, the Firefighters finished a close second to the Yankees in the 40 & Over Division, with a 13-5 record. In 2002, the Firefighters captured the 40 & Over regular season crown, finishing in first place with a 14-4 record. In 2003 the Firefighters again captured the 38 & Over regular season championship with another 14-4 record.
